Privacy policy
In short: no ads, no account, and your photos, captions and countdowns never leave your phone. Cozora sends anonymous crash reports and usage statistics to Google Firebase so we can fix bugs. You can turn that off in Settings → Privacy.
Who we are
Cozora is an app of home-screen widgets for Android, published on Google Play by the developer named on its store page. Questions about this policy: mehdiacer2@gmail.com.
What stays on your phone
- Photos you put in a photo widget. Cozora makes a smaller copy inside the app, with location and other photo metadata removed. The original stays in your gallery, untouched.
- Captions, countdown titles and dates, and the styles of your widgets.
- Your settings.
We never receive any of these. If your phone's Android backup is on, Android may include them in your own Google account backup, which is controlled by you and Google, not by us.
What Cozora collects
Only in the app downloaded from Google Play, and only while "Share usage and crash reports" is on (it's on by default):
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Usage events: which pack you opened, which widget type you added or edited, whether your launcher placed it, whether it was still there a day later or removed, and counts. These contain pack and widget names chosen from a fixed list, never anything you typed or picked. | To see which steps work and which launchers fail, so we can fix them. |
| Crash reports and errors: what went wrong in the app's code, the app version, phone model, Android version, which launcher you use and how many Cozora widgets are placed. | To find and fix crashes and widget errors. |
| App identifiers: a random Firebase installation ID created by the app. Not your advertising ID, phone number or any account. | To count installs and sessions without knowing who you are. |
This data is processed by Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics) on our behalf. See how Firebase handles data and Google's privacy policy. Analytics data is kept for 2 months; crash reports for 90 days.
What Cozora never collects
- Your photos, captions, countdown titles or dates.
- Your name, email, contacts, location or account details. There's no sign-in.
- Your advertising ID. Cozora shows no ads and doesn't use your data for advertising.
Pack downloads
New packs and full-size wallpapers download from our server on Firebase Hosting (cozora.web.app). These requests carry no personal data, but like any website, the hosting service sees your IP address and device's network request details while delivering the files and keeps short-lived logs for security and reliability.
Permissions
- Internet and network state: to download packs and send the reports above.
- Set wallpaper: only when you tap "Set matching wallpaper".
- Run at startup: to redraw your widgets after your phone restarts.
Photos are chosen with Android's photo picker, so Cozora never gets access to your whole gallery.
Your choices
- Turn off reports: Settings → Privacy → "Share usage and crash reports". This stops both analytics and crash reports and deletes crash reports not yet sent.
- Delete everything on your phone: uninstall Cozora, or clear its storage in Android settings.
- Ask us: since we can't link reports to you, we can't look up your data, but write to us and we'll help however we can.
Children
Cozora is meant for people aged 13 and over and isn't directed at children.
Security
All data Cozora sends travels encrypted over HTTPS. Pack files are checked against a signed list before they're used.
Changes
If what Cozora collects changes (for example if a future version shows ads), we'll update this page and the in-app privacy line before that version is released, and change the date at the top.
